Itek Air
Itek Air, also known as Itek Airline or International Transit Airlines, was a Kyrgyzstani airline based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. It operated both domestic and international flights. However, as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, Itek Air ceased operations in 2014.
Itek Air had a turbulent history, and its safety record came into question following several incidents. In 2008, an Itek Air flight crashed shortly after takeoff from Bishkek, resulting in the loss of all 90 passengers and crew on board. The crash raised concerns about the airline's safety standards.
Subsequently, in 2009, the European Union banned Itek Air from operating flights to its member countries due to safety concerns. The airline faced financial difficulties and struggled to meet international safety regulations, leading to its eventual suspension of operations in 2014.
